As part of the Critical Zones exhibition at the ZKM, a free workshop with a maximum of ten participants will take place over several months. The art educator, performer and art theorist Mira Hirtz uses unconventional methods to experience art with visitors in an experimental way. During the workshop, the themes of art, ecology, the Anthropocene and concepts of the exhibition, such as the “terrestrial”, are explored. The experiment assumes a performative perspective with the aim of understanding these themes and concepts as so-called “scores” or instructions for movement. The project is thus based on the idea that the body can respond to mental questions, albeit in perhaps unexpected ways. The workshop will start in mid-September 2020 with three digital and six analog sessions. The outcome of the workshop on this range of topics will be published on the ZKM website.
