As a UNESCO Creative City, Karlsruhe is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular the role of creativity and culture in building sustainable urban societies.

We attach great importance to the application of sustainable methods both in the creation, production and presentation of the selected or commissioned media artworks and in the use of sustainable materials in our publications, such as booklets, flyers or postcards.

We support projects that deal with the topic of sustainability or initiate debates on the subject. An overview can be found here.

This website was also developed under sustainability aspects and designed with an environmentally friendly web design.

By clicking on the moon symbol at the bottom right, for example, you can enable dark mode and thus reduce the energy consumption of the terminal device used. The reduced number of videos also offers great potential for CO2 savings.

To avoid large amounts of data, the website only uses compressed image and video material. The files are only loaded when they enter the visible area of the browser window or shortly before. This is especially often the case when scrolling.

In addition, the website’s hosting service is powered by renewable energy (green website hosting).

In this way, we can play our part in building a sustainable future together.
