Fahar Al-Salih

Fahar Al-Salih, born in Belgrade in 1964 to an Iraqi father and a Serbian mother, spent his childhood in Kuwait. His artistic journey began at the age of 10 and reflects themes such as home and migration, which still permeate his work today. Inspired by Vienna’s cultural scene, he resumed painting in 1989 after some setbacks and later completed formal training, studying under renowned artists such as Markus Lüpertz and Jerry Zeniuk. Now based in Karlsruhe, Fahar’s art serves as a bridge between European and Arab cultural spheres, exploring themes of identity and belonging with a deeply personal tone.
