ZeitGenuss-Festival

24. October 2019 — 27. October 2019

The seventh ZeitGenuss-Festival is all about musical media art. This year, for the first time, a composer who is also conceptual and media artist will curate the festival program with the commitment of Johannes Kreidler.

Johannes Kreidler is regarded as one of the most important representatives of concept music – his sometimes provocative, often socially critical works aim to expand the concept of music. In this sense, the program will also move between music, art, video and performance. You will experience works by Johannes Kreidler in the fields of acoustic and acousmatic music, video and performance, compositions by Carola Bauckholt, Enno Poppe and, last but not least, very recent compositions by students of the Karlsruhe University of Music.

At the same time, ZeitGenuss invites you to a musical and visual exploration of the old Schlachthof [slaughterhouse] site as new quarter:

In the newly opened Fleischmarkthalle you can experience an exhibition with visual works by Johannes Kreidler from October 24–27, 2019. The performative setting for Music on the Wall on October 27 will be provided by the duo LAB51 and Johannes Kreidler himself. In the Substage Café, the event In Hyperintervallen on October 25 will be combined with a concert and film night. The Karlsruhe ensemble TEMA will premiere four works by the composition students.

Afterwards Johannes Kreidler introduces us with Filmnacht into another aspect of his multi-layered artistic world.
