The Filmboard Karlsruhe calls on all aspiring filmmakers with limited financial means to apply for the “Media Arts Film Scholarship 2024”. In cooperation with INDEPENDENT DAYS | International Film Festival Karlsruhe, a production scholarship of €3,000 will be awarded. The scholarship offers the opportunity to realise innovative short film ideas and for the first time also supports immersive projects.
Imaginative short film concepts that cross creative boundaries are sought, regardless of genre – be it fictional, experimental or documentary. The submitted project must not have been realised before, should convince the jury with its narrative originality and should not exceed a maximum running time of 10 minutes. The prize includes a production grant to realise a professional media art film project. The Filmboard Karlsruhe provides support in various areas such as script development, filming in Karlsruhe, post-production and music composition. The aim is to create an experimental short film that deals with contemporary social issues. The winning film will be premiered as part of the INEDEPENDET DAYS | International Film Festival Karlsruhe.
- Participation is open to all creative professionals in the field of media arts and film, including student projects and without age restrictions.
- Media artists from other UNESCO Creative Cities of Media Arts as well as filmmakers and media artists worldwide are particularly welcome.
