On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Kreativpark Alter Schlachthof in Karlsruhe will open its doors from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the biennial Tag der offenen Türen (Open Doors Day) under the theme Ausgeschlachtet! Around 50 creative users, including ateliers, workshops, rehearsal rooms, and offices, will showcase their work and offer workshops and interactive activities. The site, a vibrant hub for art, design, and craftsmanship, has developed over the past years, with new spaces and actors joining the scene. Visitors will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and engage in personal conversations with the creators.
The event also features a variety of exhibitions, including presentations by the artists of the Atelierhaus in the Alter Schlachthof 1 hall and an exhibition on the history of the site in the Fleischmarkthalle. A special highlight is the collaboration between artist pairs from Karlsruhe and Strasbourg within the framework of the project CORRESPONDANZ, focusing on German-French topics. Other highlights include creative contributions on sustainability, such as artwork made from old jeans and the 1st Karlsruhe Farmers’ Market, offering fresh produce directly from local producers.
Admission is free.
