For the first time, the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe and the Hoepfner Stiftung are offering a grant of 10,000 € for a period of 10 months for the brand-new location studio hö. studio hö is a production and exhibition space that is primarily used for the creation and exhibition of media art works and projects. Events and workshops are also regularly held in the main room.
The call for applications is aimed at media artists who live and work in Karlsruhe and the region. Persons who are enrolled at a university at the start of the scholarship (by March 1, 2025) or are in a training programme are excluded. We are looking for innovative, cooperative and interdisciplinary ideas for media art projects – preferably in collaboration with other media art cities or artists from the UNESCO Creative Cities network – that will be exhibited at studio hö during the scholarship period.
In addition to the provision of a workspace and exhibition space in studio hö on the ground floor of Kaiserstr. 3, the grant includes 10,000 € spread over 10 months and a production fee of an additional 10,000 €. The scholarship holders commit to showing at least three exhibitions within the scholarship period.
An expert jury will select the recipients of the scholarship from the applications submitted. The jury is made up of representatives from the fields of art, science, culture and creative industries:
