This year, the Karlsruhe Documentary Festival once again presents a total of 18 documentary films and audio documentaries in two cinemas from May 17 to 21. Additionally, there will be discussions with the filmmakers and a varied side program. The 10th anniversary edition of dokKa also offers its visitors an extensive program and, with the digital platform dokKa +onlinemediathek, the opportunity to follow numerous program points online as a stream – until May 28.
As Festival Chairman Nils Menrad says: “We now have a steadily growing regular audience that enthusiastically watches the documentaries and audio documentaries and then participates intensively in the discussions. In addition, every year we get new visitors who are positively surprised by how different cinema documentaries are from the films shown on television. After the Corona pandemic, people are returning to the theaters. These developments reinforce my feeling: cinema has a future!”
