Following the successful launch of City to City in 2020, 13 Media Art city members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network – Austin (USA), Braga (Portugal), Cali (Colombia), Changsha (China), Enghien-les-Bains (France), Guadalajara (Mexico), Gwangju (South Korea), Karlsruhe (Germany), Kosice (Slovakia), Sapporo (Japan), Toronto (Canada), Viborg (Denmark) and York (Great Britain) – joined again forces to provide artists with a new opportunity for creative collaboration.
13 artists were selected within an international Open Call to participate in a three month long collaborative project, taking advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas, team up and pitch proposals, in line with the City to City 2021 theme PLAY!, a direct response to the lack of “playfulness” in everyday human interaction endured throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
The artist Meiyan Chen was selected from Karlsruhe, who developed an artistic work with the artists ARCOS from the UNESCO Creative City of Austin (USA) and Taeheon Lee from York (UK).
