Dr. Helga Huskamp, Chief Operating Office, ZKM I Karlsruhe

The ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe was founded in 1989 with the mission of bringing traditional arts into the digital age. A center for all media and all genres—including both space-based arts such as painting, photography and sculpture, and time-based arts such as film, video, media art, music, dance, theater and performance —this cultural institution is unique in the world

The work of the ZKM brings together research and production, exhibitions and performances, collections and archives, as well as communication and events. The latest developments in art and society are presented in all forms of media and methods on around 15,000 square meters of exhibition space in changing thematic and monographic exhibitions.

The ZKM sets standards worldwide in the production of artistically and academically outstanding interactive, participative and performative exhibitions and accompanying publications with an international impact. The center is also involved in several international collaborative projects that make ZKM exhibition content accessible to a global audience.
