2021, the UNESCO Secretariat launched a global call to collect and publish the cultural actions taken by the 295 UNESCO Creative Cities around the world in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initiatives from more than 90 UNESCO Creative Cities from over 40 countries have been selected and summarized in the now released publication ‘UNESCO Creative Cities’ Response to COVID-19: from immediate action to long term recovery’. The publication provides impressive evidence of the positive policies, proactive initiatives, and innovative measures taken by the cities.
The UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe submitted the projects SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe – Digital Edition and City to City, which, in addition to the special mention of our city, have become part of the globally distributed report.
