The winners of the first BBBank-Newcomer-Award Karlskompensator by Crushed Eyes Media (1st place), as well as the second-placed show Ganesis by the Berlin artist Spiegelball received a great response and much applause from the visitors at the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival 2021 in Karlsruhe.

2022 with high international participation

The ZKM I Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe and the KME Karlsruhe Marketing and Event GmbH has awarded the international prize for projection mapping projects for the second time this year. The award is sponsored by BBBank eG and takes place within the framework of UNESCO City of Media Arts.

From 75 applications submitted from all over the world, a jury of experts – consisting of representatives of the ZKM I Karlsruhe, the BBBank eG, the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, the Karlsruhe Department of Cultural Affairs and the KME Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH – selected the project Resilience by the French studio Atelier V3 for the main prize. The work by Atelier V3 deals with topics such as sustainability, biodiversity and resilience and will be realised as a new artistic production for the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe 2022.

Second place is shared by the Dortmund artist Leonie Benkenstein and the artist couple Hotaru Visual Guerrilla from Spain. Both projects will also be on show at the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE next August. Third place goes to the media artist Simon Hilme from Dresden.
